Most stick terminology concerns shapes, elements and features of the stick. While the exact terminology used is often given a marketing name particular to a certain brand, the underlying element of the stick can usually be traced back to common themes.
The easiest way to describe the handle is as the section covered by the stick grip!
The section of the stick between the handle and the head. Always curved on the back and flat on the front (sometimes called the ‘playing area’) the edges of this section must be rounded.
The curved section at the end of the stick. Back in the days of wood there used to be much more variety in the shape of the head but today this section much more uniform across the market, being slight variations on a 45 degree bend with an extended toe (the end of the head).
